About The Position

About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 13 The Team: The U.S. Structured Credit - CLO team is part of the broader Structured Finance Group at S&P Global Ratings. The team assigns and monitors credit ratings for securitizations backed by broadly syndicated or middle market corporate loans. The Impact: As a Director, CLO Credit Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining S&P Global Ratings' leadership position in the structured credit market. Your expertise will directly influence credit rating decisions that impact billions of dollars in securitized transactions, while your mentorship will shape the next generation of credit analysts. You will serve as a trusted resource to clients, bankers, and investors, contributing to market transparency and investor confidence through your analytical insights and thought leadership. What's in it for you: Work alongside industry-leading professionals in the dynamic structured credit market Gain exposure to cutting-edge transaction structures and emerging market trends Develop leadership skills through mentoring and managing analytical relationships Build expertise across multiple sectors through collaboration with S&P experts in fund finance, project finance, corporate finance, and financial institutions Enhance your professional profile through participation in industry conferences and thought leadership publications Advance your career in a global financial services organization with opportunities for professional growth and development Responsibilities: Perform transaction analysis including portfolio default analysis, collateral manager evaluations, cash-flow analysis of transaction structures, and review of legal structures and documentation Lead transactions with minimal direction Prepare credit memoranda and present transactions to rating committees Serve as lead analyst and primary contact to clients, bankers, and investors on transactions Assist in the development and publication of individual transactions reports, credit research and special topic and market commentaries Work with the surveillance team in monitoring and updating ratings on existing transactions Mentor and train junior personnel Demonstrate willingness to travel as needed Lead operational review meetings with collateral management teams to assess their underwriting process, investment philosophy, track record, risk monitoring capabilities, and overall ability to develop and successfully execute strategies Seamlessly collaborate with S&P experts in other sectors such as fund finance, project finance, corporate finance, and financial institutions Participate in industry conference panels as moderator and/or panelist Mentor and coach team members to further build capabilities across providing exceptional issuer service, sector analysis, emerging risks and other success factors relating to our analytical insights and market relevance Lead and contribute to analytical projects as needed and required – including methodologies, research, thought leadership pieces and global projects (GIFTs/LIFTs, etc.) Role model and actively support primary analysts with managing analytical relationships with issuers in the portfolio All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, mathematics, or related fields that demonstrate strong analytical capabilities An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 10+ years of experience in credit or financial analysis Structured finance / Financial Institution or credit analysis experience in the financial services industry, including banking The ability to consider new assets and structural risks in the context of our rating principles Comfort considering relative creditworthiness outside of a typical criteria context Demonstrated track record as a diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed Strong proficiency with Excel, financial models, and financial data Strong understanding of financial markets and their relationship to S&P products Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to analyze and solve non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines under time pressure Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team Excellent research skills Experience with cash flow modeling We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. Requirements
