This role oversees EMR platforms, clinical workflows, and system interfaces to support efficient and compliant clinical and operational processes. The Director also manages a team of EMR professionals, coordinates quality programs (e.g., MIPS), and partners with clinical, administrative, IT, and vendor teams to ensure effective training, support, and issue resolution related to clinical systems. Requirements ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES The responsibilities and duties described in this job description are intended to provide a general overview of the position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serves as the primary contact for clinical systems-related issues across the organization, managing support requests, troubleshooting, and system enhancements. Oversees clinical software systems and interfaces, supporting clinical, operational, and administrative workflows to ensure efficient data integration and process alignment. Leads the strategy, implementation, and optimization of clinical systems across various care settings, tailoring solutions to meet specific operational and clinical needs. Provides leadership to the EMR team, including staffing, training, performance management, and professional development of EMR Coordinators and scribes. Collaborates with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to streamline workflows, enhance system adoption, and improve patient care efficiency. Coordinates participation in quality programs (e.g., MIPS), ensuring accurate documentation, data capture, and regulatory reporting. Ensures compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulations, overseeing privacy protocols, audits, and risk mitigation strategies. Manages vendor relationships, system upgrades, issue resolution, and collaborates with IT on long-term system planning and performance. Utilizes analytics and reporting tools to assess EMR performance, support documentation quality, and inform clinical and operational decision-making. Collaborates with leadership to develop and manage departmental budgets and policies, including disaster recovery and records management strategies. Performs other position related duties as assigned. Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
