About The Position

The Director of Clinical Services – Wound Care leads and advances the organization’s wound care program across home health, ALFs, SNFs, and office settings. This role provides clinical leadership, provider education, and quality oversight to ensure evidence‑based care, regulatory compliance, strong documentation, and excellent patient outcomes. The Director partners closely with Quality, Compliance, Legal, IT, and Operations to scale a high‑performing, mobile wound care program.

Requirements

  • Active clinical license (NP, PA, MD, DO) with strong wound care background.
  • Proven leadership experience in wound care services.
  • Expertise in wound care best practices, documentation, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience with EMRs and clinical workflows.
  • Strong teaching, mentoring, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced wound care certification (WCC, CWCN, CWON, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience supporting coding, billing, and revenue integrity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership Serve as the clinical expert for chronic and complex wounds.
  • Mentor and oversee wound care providers and clinical staff.
  • Establish evidence-based standards, protocols, and clinical pathways.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex cases and interdisciplinary planning.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and payer requirements.
  • Provider Training & Education Lead ongoing education on wound assessment, treatment, infection prevention, and documentation.
  • Conduct case reviews, competency validation, and onboarding for new wound care providers.
  • Provide targeted training on coding, documentation, and payer expectations.
  • Program Development & Operations Support development and scaling of wound programs across care settings.
  • Work with IT to optimize EMR workflows, templates, and documentation.
  • Partner with revenue cycle teams to ensure accurate coding and charge capture.
  • Assist in evaluating and adopting new wound care technologies and tools.
  • Quality, Compliance & Performance Monitor wound care quality metrics, audits, and outcomes.
  • Lead corrective action plans and provider coaching related to documentation or compliance.
  • Promote continuous improvement and clinical excellence.
  • Agency Relations & Communication Serve as clinical liaison for agency partners and referral relationships.
  • Support communication through meetings, training, and onboarding.
  • Ensure alignment between clinical operations, agencies, and organizational goals.
