About The Position

The Director of Clinical Research is responsible for leading and coordinating the development of clinical studies for novel therapies in Immunology and Inflammation. This role involves designing and implementing phase 1, 2, proof of mechanism, and proof of concept studies, ensuring collaboration with various teams to meet study timelines and objectives. The Director will act as the primary liaison for investigators and will oversee safety and regulatory compliance throughout the study process.

Requirements

  • MD or MD/PhD required, with experience in Rheumatology, Allergy, Pulmonary, Hematology, or Dermatology clinical trials.
  • Two or more years of experience in biopharmaceutical sponsored clinical research.
  • Experience as a medical monitor and clinical lead across therapeutic areas is desirable.
  • Good understanding of biostatistics, regulatory, clinical pharmacology, and biomarker-based approaches.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets.
  • Demonstrated scientific productivity through publications and abstracts.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, along with proven scientific writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design PoM, SoCA or POC studies in consultation with KOLs and Pfizer project team members.
  • Develop primary and secondary endpoints for efficacy and safety, contributing to the precision medicine and biomarker strategy.
  • Develop a network of consultants and KOLs for programs in new indications.
  • Participate in project teams from FIH/POM/SOCA through POC trial completion to ensure clinical development strategies are implemented.
  • Accountable for safety across the study, including regular review of safety data and response to safety issues.
  • Provide leadership in preparation of critical documents such as clinical protocols and regulatory documents.
  • Foster collaboration between clinical teams and partners in the Inflammation and Immunology Research Unit.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scientific literature in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Develop effective collaborations with research project leaders and team members.
  • Establish relationships with external experts, consultants, and disease-specific investigator networks.
