The Director of Cancer Center South Bay Clinic Operations, in partnership with the Senior Director, Cancer Network, provides strategic and operational leadership for ambulatory cancer care clinics across the Stanford Cancer Network. This role is accountable for the effective planning, personnel management, operational performance, and financial oversight of multiple clinics, programs, and cross-departmental initiatives to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care and a safe, efficient work environment. Leading through Patient Care Managers, Assistant Clinic Operations Managers, and front-line staff, the Director ensures that Stanford Health Care standards for clinical excellence, patient experience, and operational reliability are met across all assigned sites. The Director is responsible for the full scope of clinic operations and business development for the Stanford Healthcare Cancer Network. Working collaboratively with the Vice President of Cancer Destination Service Line, the Executive Director of Radiation Oncology and Cancer Network, the Senior Director, Cancer Network, and the Medical Director of Cancer Center South Bay, the Director identifies and advances new programs and growth opportunities across the DSL Cancer Network. Key focus areas include program planning and implementation, operational and financial performance monitoring, budget development, and continuous quality and performance improvement activities aligned with organizational goals. The Director functions with significant independence and is accountable for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs, projects, and initiatives that advance the mission and strategic priorities of the SHC Cancer Network. The Director will be responsible for supporting clinics and programs across the Cancer DSL Network as needed and maintaining cancer program database in a manner that meets standards for CoC and QOPI. A Brief Overview The Director-Clinic Operations participates fully, with the Vice President - Ambulatory Care Services - in providing management and leadership of the ambulatory care clinics and is accountable, with assistance from Clinic Managers and other lower level staff, for the effective strategic planning, and the personnel, operational, and financial management of multiple assigned clinic(s), program(s) and/or project(s) that cross multiple departments and/or services, to ensure optimal quality, cost-effective service/outcomes, and a safe and efficient work environment. The Director-Clinic Operations provide management and leadership to multiple ambulatory care clinics, this position is responsible for the total operation and business development of the Stanford Medical Outpatient Center located off-site in Redwood City. In collaboration with the Vice President, identifies and pursues new business development opportunities for the Ambulatory Division. This position acts in the absence of the Vice President for Ambulatory Care with full authority to carry out all responsibilities. The Director has total responsibility for operations in assigned clinics. Key functions of the position include most or all of the following: program planning, development, and implementation; program monitoring and evaluation; budget planning and monitoring; and quality and performance improvement to achieve organizational/departmental goals. The Director assumes full responsibility with considerable independence planning, designing, implementing and evaluating programs, projects, studies or other work for a major component of Ambulatory Care services.
