The Division Chief shall serve as the leader of the division to achieve clinical, research, and academic programmatic goals while overseeing the Division of Anatomic Pathology. Incumbent is responsible for the performance of Anatomic Pathology services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – the school’s 650-bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, and partner of the Cancer Institute of NJ, an NCI -Designated Cancer Treatment Center. A creative and innovative leader, the Division Chief of Anatomic Pathology will collaboratively implement new initiatives to ensure the growth of Anatomic Pathology, guiding our surgical pathology, cytopathology, autopsy pathology and immunohistochemistry services. The Division Chief of Anatomic Pathology will also be expected to give guidance to faculties and residents for our educational and research missions. In addition to the leadership role, responsibilities include the provision of patient care services, teaching, research, and service to the institution. The Division Chief is responsible for the leadership, communication and team working within the laboratory, providing advice to the Clinical Director on specialty issues. This includes accountability for all aspects of clinical governance, including quality assurance and accreditation and the development of services. In addition, the division chief shall provide patient care services and will support the Rutgers Health and RWJ Barnabas Health mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for patients and their families.
