About The Position

The University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD). This role involves overseeing the strategic direction and research initiatives of a globally recognized center dedicated to vaccine research and public health improvement, particularly in low-resource settings. The Director will be responsible for fostering collaboration, securing funding, and enhancing educational programs while addressing global health challenges and promoting health equity.

Requirements

• MD (preferred) and/or PhD, or equivalent degree in infectious diseases, immunology, microbiology, or a related field.
• Internationally recognized scientific and research impact with an extensive publication record.
• Proven experience in senior leadership roles within academic or research institutions.
• Strong background in infectious disease research, vaccine development, and public health.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

• Oversee educational programs and mentor faculty and students to enhance research capacity.
• Manage the Center's operational and budgetary activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
