The Director, Center for Cyber Security Education and Research is responsible for overseeing Computer Science academic programs and faculty, while also developing and expanding the Center for Cyber Security Education and Research. This position reports to the Academic Division Chair and involves coordinating with institutional and community stakeholders to plan and implement cybersecurity related workshops, training opportunities, and bootcamps. The director will assist in maintaining the cyberoperations program curriculum and ensure that cybersecurity offerings align with current government and industry trends.

  • Coordinating with institutional and community stakeholders to plan and implement cybersecurity related workshops, training opportunities, and bootcamps
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the cyberoperations program curriculum
  • Assisting in the application for and maintenance of special designation status for the cyberoperations program
  • Ensuring cybersecurity offerings align with current government and industry trends
  • Communicating with other institutions, government, and industry for cybersecurity related collaboration and funding opportunities
  • Applying for and maintaining cybersecurity related grant and revenue generating opportunities
  • Overseeing cybersecurity related research efforts
  • Developing and executing curricular, extracurricular, and research opportunities to engage students
  • Develop internship pipelines, career pathways, and applied learning opportunities for students
  • Securing NSA CAE-CD designation within three years
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with government agencies (e.g., NSA, DHS), private industry, and other academic institutions
  • Represent the Center in regional and national cybersecurity forums, consortia, and advisory boards
  • Overseeing virtual cybersecurity labs and simulations
  • Support student success through mentorship, academic advising, and career readiness initiatives
  • Facilitate faculty development in cybersecurity pedagogy and scholarship
  • Manage the Center's day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgeting, and reporting
  • Supervision as assigned within the program
  • Others duties as assigned
  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field required from accredited institution of higher learning; Ph.D. preferred in relevant discipline
  • Significant professional experience preferred (3-5 yrs.)
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with publishing and/or presenting research preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience developing cybersecurity content preferred
  • Cybersecurity credentials and/or certificates preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding and strong commitment to cultural diversity
