About The Position

Description Responsible for the oversight and management of the Cardiovascular Services Department; works with patients from adolescent to geriatric. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Responsibilities General Management:  Establishes goals and objectives that support overall strategic plans of the facility/Baptist Health System  Develops and manages the annual department operating and capital budgets  Directs daily operations of assigned department/s  Directs performance of staff  Maintains objectivity in decision making, utilizing facts to support decisions  Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System  Manages to eliminate boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient and quality service  Achieves ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies  Serves as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues  Demonstrates flexibility in response to change  Anticipates and responds to problems and risks  Communicates effectively with all levels in the organization and with inter/external customers People Management:  Selects personnel for hire and promotion; takes appropriate actions regarding counseling, disciplinary actions, demotion and termination  Directs, supports and coaches direct reports  Responds proactively to employee needs and concerns  Develops “experts” and “expertise” throughout the department and seeks employee input  Facilitates consensus among divergent groups  Minimizes staff turnover  Acknowledges and rewards employees’ strengths and accomplishments  Evaluates assigned staff performance and competency, providing direct feedback  Assesses learning needs, develops competency plans and provides opportunities for learning Department/Business Unit Management:  Completes schedules to insure an appropriate level of staffing  Functions as staff person as necessary  Maintains appropriate supply levels by maintaining low inventory costs  Maintains accurate records of all procedures performed  Coordinates with other hospital departments  Develops and maintains excellent physician/staff professional relationships  Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively  Maintains safe environment  Addresses patient population-specific needs  Participates in Performance Improvement activities Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and/or accredited school of radiology and/or accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in related field MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in Cardiovascular Services. 2 years management experience in related field. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Director of Cardiovascular Services REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possess a current Texas State License or AART, ACVT or RCIS REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):  Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire  AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role. #LI-AG1

Requirements

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and/or accredited school of radiology and/or accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in Cardiovascular Services. 2 years management experience in related field.
  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possess a current Texas State License or AART, ACVT or RCIS
  • REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
  • AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
