About The Position

Responsible for leading a team that contracts medical supplies, equipment, technologies, devices, purchased services and related ancillary services across the health system for optimal value. This team liaises with clinical service line leadership, medical staff, nursing, and the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) to ensure cost effective utilization of products, including medical surgical supplies and capital equipment, while maintaining or improving the quality of patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Nursing, or related field of study.
  • Eight (8) years' related experience including contracts, supply chain, and/or nursing experience.
  • Valid state Nursing licensure preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the contract portfolio is effective, efficient, and optimized between the GPO and local agreements.
  • Creates strategic alliances with suppliers to leverage volume and optimize costs.
  • Identifies value creation opportunities and cascades goals throughout the Spend Management department.
  • Leads standardization and contract consolidation initiatives.
  • Monitors markets to understand changes and product introductions to ensure the contract portfolio remains relevant.
  • Leads strategic negotiations with suppliers to drive value and cost savings.
  • Develops team savings and process improvement goals and ensures Spend Management processes are implemented and sustained.
  • Partners with IT Services leadership for strategic needs.
  • Develops scorecard schedules with Category Managers to drive tangible improvements with strategic suppliers.
  • Manages a portfolio of systems ranging from highly strategic and business critical, while seeking out improvements to enhance work function.
  • Provides leadership to ensure cost-effective, value-creating supply chain activities.
  • Develops and matures the Value Analysis process.
  • Ensures an adequate pipeline of Value Analysis initiatives to achieve cost reduction targets while maintaining or improving the quality of care.
  • Delivers cost savings and value maximization for equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Collaborates with administrators and managers to implement interdepartmental procedures to improve procurement cycle activities.
  • Maintains metrics, reports, and documentation.
  • Leads and motivates diverse teams, managing workplace change effectively.
  • Ensures Value Analysis Teams achieve cost savings, patient safety, and quality goals while effectively working with clinicians to bring in new value-added supplies and equipment.
  • Represents the organization at conferences and network with industry leaders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
