Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in the e-commerce industry.
  • Experience in managing a team of sales or account management professionals.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with sellers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and marketplaces, including seller onboarding, product listing, and order management.
  • Expertise in seller acquisition and growth, target brand/seller identification, seller funnel performance management, seller education, analytics, and key account management.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and advertising, including SEO, SEM, and social media marketing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to close deals and drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a cohesive seller acquisition strategy, targeting high-potential 3P vendors to expand marketplace offerings.
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding process, including creating a robust support framework for new sellers.
  • Build and iterate on strategies that unlock new revenue opportunities within the marketplace ecosystem.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships between marketplace operations and merchandising to align on strategic priorities and product selection.
  • Ensure cross-functional partnerships deliver optimal outcomes for customers and vendors alike.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of vendor relationships, from acquisition to growth and retention.
  • Foster healthy, productive partnerships that support vendor success while driving marketplace goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and assess a team of Business Development Managers, empowering them to achieve and exceed performance metrics.
  • Establish clear KPIs and success benchmarks for the team and individual contributors.
  • Spearhead efforts to innovate within the marketplace model, incorporating new technologies and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify emerging trends and growth opportunities, positioning the marketplace as a leader in the industry.
