About The Position

The Director - Catalyze360 Product Architect at Lilly is responsible for guiding the design, development, and deployment of a large-scale IT ecosystem that drives innovation in pharmaceutical research and development. This role involves leading multi-functional teams through strategic technology implementations, making pivotal decisions regarding system integration, and incorporating innovative AI technologies to enhance drug discovery processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT architecture with a proven track record of leading large-scale IT implementations.
  • Strong leadership skills capable of influencing multi-functional teams.
  • Experience in making intricate architectural decisions regarding build vs. buy solutions.
  • Deep expertise in cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and AI/ML platforms.
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic vision with immediate business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the design, development, and deployment of a large-scale IT ecosystem for pharmaceutical R&D.
  • Lead multi-functional teams through strategic technology implementations.
  • Make decisions regarding build vs. buy solutions and system integration.
  • Collaborate with R&D, AI, and Business Development partners to create a scalable and secure technology platform.
  • Drive the integration of multiple technologies and platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow.
  • Incorporate AI/ML capabilities into the IT ecosystem for data-driven insights and automation.
  • Establish optimal procedures, standards, and guidelines for system architecture and data privacy.
  • Ensure architecture scalability to support growth in data and user needs.
  • Communicate architectural vision to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with technical decisions.
