Responsibilities Director of Cardiovascular Lab provides leadership, supervision and coordinates department activities, ensuring safety to both patients and staff. Directs all human resource functions of the department which include overseeing training, coaching, interviewing, discipline, performance evaluations, ensures staff competencies and safe staffing levels are maintained. Manages budget to meet department needs, meets organizational and patient safety goals and ensures regulatory compliance. The Director ensures ongoing monitoring of departmental indicators and PI activities, and reports activities as directed. The Director implements, directs and evaluates the activities of the Cardiovascular Laboratory employees to ensure quality patient care. The Service Line Director will engage in and monitor performance improvement activities, program growth strategies, and metrics to support new patient growth and evaluation of service line additions.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse highly preferred, not required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required for all new hires after 1/11/2021.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)-(AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
  • Five (5) years of Coronary Care Nursing and/or the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Proficient in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
  • Operates Cardiovascular Laboratory equipment; pressure injectors, hemodynamic monitor, cardiac output computer, etc.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, and budgeting.
