This role is the primary owner of Fervo’s capital stack post-close – ensuring that financing structures are executed, governed, and optimized from initial construction through operations, refinancings, amendments, and long-term portfolio optimization. The Director will work hands-on with lenders, equity partners, and internal stakeholders to manage construction-period execution risk, maintain compliance, and support the efficient deployment of capital across a growing multi-billion-dollar portfolio of enhanced geothermal projects.

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, energy investing, asset management, or structured finance, with significant exposure to post-close management of complex capital facilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with project finance debt during construction, including loan draws, CPs, lender consents, and compliance management
  • Proven ability to manage external relationships with lenders, equity partners, and advisors while coordinating across internal technical and commercial teams
  • Demonstrated experience operating across the full asset lifecycle, including construction, early operations, and refinancings
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and execution skills, with comfort operating in highly technical, multi-stakeholder environments

Responsibilities

  • Capital Facility & Portfolio Management: Ongoing management and oversight of Fervo’s private capital facilities across both project and corporate levels, including project finance debt, project-level equity and joint venture structures, tax equity, and corporate debt facilities. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining disciplined portfolio management practices to ensure capital structures are administered in compliance with governing documentation and optimized across the full asset lifecycle.
  • Project Finance Debt Administration: Direct oversite of project finance debt facilities throughout construction and operations, including management of construction loan draws, borrowing base mechanics, conditions precedent, lender notices, compliance reporting, and covenant monitoring. The role will lead lender consents, waivers, and amendments, act as the primary day-to-day relationship owner with lenders and agents following financial close, and support the transition from construction to operations, including preparation for refinancings and facility modifications.
  • Project Equity, Tax Equity & JV Governance: Primary post-close relationship manager for project-level equity, tax equity, and joint venture partners and will oversee ongoing governance throughout construction and operations. This includes managing information rights, approval processes, reporting obligations, and issue resolution, as well as preparing analyses and materials to support project-level decisions and ensure structures are administered in accordance with governing agreements and strategic objectives.
  • Corporate Capital Facilities & Treasury Interface: Manage the administration and compliance of corporate debt and other private capital facilities, including facilitating Letter of Credit postings and surety management, working closely with Treasury on liquidity management, forecasting, and covenant compliance. The role will interface with Investor Relations to support communications and reporting to lenders and private capital providers and ensure consistency between financing obligations and internal financial planning.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and manage a small, high-performing portfolio management team, initially overseeing one direct report and expanding the team as Fervo’s capital base grows. The role will serve as the central point of coordination across Legal, Engineering, Accounting, Development / Asset Management, Treasury, and other functions to ensure effective execution, governance, and reporting across the capital portfolio.
