About the position

The Director of Campus Life and Engagement Initiatives at Voorhees University is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department, including recruiting and supervising staff, developing funding proposals, and coordinating campus-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement and retention. Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate all professional staff, student employees, and interns.
  • Identify and develop new external funding/proposals opportunities for community relations and partnerships.
  • Coordinate and facilitate scheduled department meetings, retreats, and other development opportunities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities for student engagement and retention.
  • Prepare, administer, and manage the operating budget and expenditures related to the department.
  • Review and approve on-campus facility requests for registered student organizations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote campus life and student success.
  • Compile and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports on program activities.
  • Create, implement, and assess measurable department and program goals and objectives.
  • Serve as the department representative on various university projects and initiatives.
  • Implement and coordinate campus-wide initiatives and programming for student success.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to achieve strategic transformation goals.
  • Serve as Advisor to the International Students Association.
  • Coordinate with the Lyceum chair and planning committee for program series.
  • Assist the Dean of Students with the student judicial committee.
  • Establish and chair a campus-wide volunteer/advisory board network.
  • Serve as the Office of Student Affairs liaison with IT and Media Relations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with students through events and programs.
  • Serve as an advisory resource for Greek Life and its affiliated chapters.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating Greek Life events and activities.
  • Work an unconventional schedule to support campus programs.
  • Attend departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Serve on various campus and community committees as necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Affairs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Student Affairs or related field.
  • 5 - 7 years related experience required.
  • Experience in leadership and advisory roles with student organizations.
  • Experience in campus and community programming.
  • Experience with budget management and fundraising.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and related student engagement programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to construct and maintain significant relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community officials.
  • Working knowledge of college student development theory.
