The Director, Business Operations for USCAN Commercial drives efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance of region comprising of US and Canada. This leader operates as a strategic partner to the Head of Region and USCAN Commercial leadership team. Utilizes strategic and operational insights to drive organizational action to achieve business goals. The position will collaborate with the following functions: Sales, Strategic Growth, Commercial Operations, Field Marketing, Service Operations, HR, Finance and global functions. Where you come in Strategy: Serve as the strategic lead for Head of Region, USCAN with a focus on driving growth. Run point on strategic initiatives to help both current quarter and out quarter needs. Lead mid-range planning for USCAN and partner with Global Commercial Excellence, USCAN Leadership, and cross functional partners to drive three-year growth plans. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze sales data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports and presentations to inform strategic decisions and measure team performance. Maintains and fosters a close partnership with the Commercial Analytics team to drive insights into action plans. Cross Functional Leadership: Leads key priorities and projects across USCAN in partnership with Global functions Tactical Execution: Work closely with internal teams on goal setting, tracking, and action plans Communication: Facilitate communication across the USCAN people leader team and ensuring clear and consistent messaging

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 18 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 15 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 12 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 10+ years in commercial and operational leadership roles.
  • You are subject matter expertise in life sciences, pharmaceutical or medical device sales strategy and execution
  • You have recognized ability to influence across organizational boundaries, to collaborate effectively and to define mutual win scenarios.
  • You demonstrated organizational and planning skills/expertise. Proven communication skills with a demonstrated capacity to communicate complex ideas and business concepts effectively and practically.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships to manage through influence without direct authority.
  • You have knowledge of systems and tools to scale and support sales force growth and commercial productivity.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have prior implementation and utilization of CRM (SFDC preferred), AI tools, and Cloud-based systems to measure, track and maximize business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and thought partnership to the Head of Region, USCAN
  • Partner with USCAN people leaders to transform the sales strategy and execution
  • Contribute to strategic Commercial decisions and play a critical role in driving mid-range (three-year) growth plans for USCAN in alignment with the established Global Commercial Excellence processes
  • Assess USCAN Sub Region sales effectiveness and productivity, identify drivers per data analytics, and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Partner with Commercial Analytics to drive insights into actions
