About The Position

Core Responsibilities Business Growth & Pipeline Management Identify, evaluate, and pursue new clinical trial opportunities across sponsors, CROs, and therapeutic areas Develop and maintain a robust and actionable sales pipeline Support organizational growth objectives through proactive opportunity development Collaborate with leadership to align business development strategy with operational capacity Contribute to revenue forecasting and growth planning Sponsor & Partner Relationships Cultivate and manage relationships with sponsors, CROs, biotech, and pharmaceutical partners Understand partner needs and align organizational capabilities accordingly Represent the organization at industry meetings, conferences, and networking events Establish credibility through clinical research expertise and consultative engagement Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with site operations and feasibility teams to evaluate protocol fit and site placement Ensure seamless transition of awarded studies into operational workflows Support internal stakeholders throughout the proposal, feasibility, and startup phases Align opportunity development with site capabilities and strategic priorities Sales Support & Performance Tracking Develop presentations, proposals, and sponsor-facing materials Track proposal activity, pipeline movement, and win/loss metrics Maintain accurate business development data within the CTMS or CRM systems Analyze sponsor trends, competitive positioning, and market dynamics Operational & Strategic Alignment Support timely execution of CDAs and business agreements Maintain working knowledge of organizational services and differentiators Provide market intelligence to inform growth strategy Ensure business development activities align with compliance and operational standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10-12+ years of experience in clinical research
  • 10-12+ years of experience in clinical research business development or related commercial roles
  • Demonstrated success in developing sponsor/CRO relationships and securing new business
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, feasibility, and site capabilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple initiatives
  • Professional, credible, and relationship-driven presence
