About The Position

The Director, Business Consulting Practice is a senior subject matter expert in business consulting principles with deep operational knowledge of print and mail organizations. This leader is responsible for developing the practice vision, executing strategic plans, and achieving the Professional Services revenue targets for the assigned practice. The Director oversees strategic consulting services, solution development, cross-practice collaboration, and customer-facing pre‑sales support. They represent Ricoh at industry events and serve as a thought leader, while guiding a geographically dispersed team toward high performance, consistency, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Extensive Production Operations experience.
  • 6–10 years delivering billable services in: Business process analysis & re-engineering Composition and workflow automation Variable data, trans-promotional documents Output management and postal processing
  • 10+ years selling and delivering services within: Fortune 1000 print operations In‑plant environments Large commercial print operations
  • Valid driver’s license and required insurance coverage per company policy.
  • Proven success selling billable consulting services (independent of hardware/software).
  • Ability to lead executive‑level visioning and IT strategy sessions.
  • Deep knowledge of workflow-related industry trends.
  • Expertise in solution selling across areas such as: Print/Mail Financial Infrastructure Color Management & Digital Pre‑Press Digital Marketing & Cross‑Media MIS & Print Automation Postal Processing & Output Management Workflow Automation, EDM, Imaging, Forms, e‑Signature, DRM
  • Familiarity with industrial engineering/time‑motion analysis.
  • Strong negotiation, coaching, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • 3–5 years managing geographically dispersed teams (preferred).
  • Management experience with direct and matrixed reports (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the strategic vision for the assigned practice.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives with Managed Services and Global Account Program teams.
  • Identify emerging technologies and build business cases for new go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Lead high‑level consulting engagements with CXO and VP clients.
  • Support sales teams to exceed software, services quotas, and gross profit goals.
  • Serve as a pre‑sales subject matter expert during discovery and assessment engagements.
  • Close Discovery/Assessment projects valued at $10,000+.
  • Create a scalable U.S.-wide practice model through training and development of SDM, CSS, CSA, and other personnel.
  • Standardize business processes, deliverables, and Statements of Work.
  • Build statistical databases, white papers, and industry analytics resources.
  • Develop internal and external talent pipelines to expand subject matter expertise.
  • Manage practice utilization, resource allocation, performance appraisals, and administrative functions.
  • Represent Ricoh at trade shows, webinars, and customer events as a keynote speaker.
  • Evangelize Ricoh’s equipment and workflow solutions and integrated offerings.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of staff deliverables to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular coaching, development, and professional growth support for team members.
