About The Position

The Director, Brand Marketing, in partnership with the Chief Marketing Officer and Regional Marketing leaders, is a strategic leader responsible for building, managing, and enhancing Kate Spade's brand relevance and marketing efforts. The Director will develop and implement brand strategies as well as manage and optimize campaign performance. The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Brand Marketing to lead global hero campaign development, ensuring creative concepts are on-brand, impactful, and relevant to the target consumer and platforms. They will cultivate partnerships with industry partners and thought leaders to stay up to date with consumer trends, translate brand heritage and values into culturally relevant and emotionally resonant storytelling across multiple campaigns, and provide clear and detailed briefs to external agencies. The role also involves collaborating with merchandising and local marketing teams, managing the creative process, orchestrating global campaign launches, planning and monitoring key milestones, and tracking and analyzing campaign performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant working experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong retail business acumen.
  • Mix of data-driven analytic experience and gut creative instincts.
  • High action orientation and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong negotiating skills, excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Partnership oriented and familiarity in working in a matrixed internal organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global hero campaign development, ensuring creative concepts are on-brand, impactful, and relevant to the target consumer and platforms.
  • Cultivate partnerships with industry partners and thought leaders to stay up to date with consumer trends.
  • Translate brand heritage and values into culturally relevant and emotionally resonant storytelling across multiple campaigns.
  • Provide clear and detailed briefs to external agencies, outlining campaign objectives, target demographics, and key messaging.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and local marketing teams to ensure hero product alignment and commercial objectives are met for each campaign.
  • Manage the creative process internally to bring the hero campaign to life across all touchpoints.
  • Orchestrate global campaign launch with a spike and sustain strategy, partnering with all markets.
  • Plan and monitor key milestones, guaranteeing the timely delivery of all marketing deliverables.
  • Collaborate with market and channel teams to maintain a consistent implementation of the plans.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance in-market to identify learnings and propose improvements.
  • Lead agile interventions and amplification plans to sustain brand heat as campaign goes in-market.
