About The Position

The Director, Benefits at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is a pivotal role that reports directly to the VP of Total Rewards. This position is primarily responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and delivery of health and wellness programs that align with the organization's philosophy and culture. The Director will ensure that these programs are competitive in the local market, cost-effective, and compliant with all relevant regulations. This includes developing benefits strategies and managing existing programs to ensure they are designed competitively and executed efficiently, in alignment with company goals. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including compliance with ERISA, non-ERISA, Absence Management, ADA, and Deferred Compensation (401K) plans. In addition to compliance, the Director will conduct annual evaluations of coverage and policies to assess their cost-effectiveness and competitiveness. This involves managing relationships with vendors, brokers, and carriers, monitoring costs, service levels, processes, and the accuracy of data. The Director will also lead negotiations and renewals with providers, ensuring governance, contract compliance, and effective communication strategies are in place. A key aspect of this role is overseeing the communication of the company's employee benefits plans to optimize understanding and impact, which includes conducting informative employee meetings and benefit seminars during open enrollment. Furthermore, the Director will manage the implementation and ongoing management of health and welfare benefits and qualified retirement plans while developing insightful strategies and solutions to enhance the overall benefits offering.
