About The Position

The Director of B2B eCommerce Cloud Platform Engineering at McKesson is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding the platform engineering strategy. This position focuses on ensuring the robustness, scalability, and security of cloud platforms while leading full stack cloud engineering and operations teams. The director will collaborate with stakeholders to develop long-term IT strategies, oversee architectural leadership, and drive operational excellence in incident management and IT service management processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in IT, with extensive experience in cloud platform engineering and operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in building and managing PaaS cloud platforms.
  • Strong background in full stack cloud engineering, security, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Expertise in DevSecOps, microservices, containers, and middleware.
  • In-depth knowledge of high availability (HA) patterns and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
  • Extensive operations experience with a strong understanding of SRE principles.
  • Excellent communication and written skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop long-term IT strategies for transportation management.

  • Create comprehensive solution designs that address complex business challenges using cloud technologies.
  • Oversee the integration of middleware, APIs, microservices, and container technologies.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) and ensure security best practices are embedded in all processes.
  • Manage and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Oversee incident management and align with ITSM and ITIL processes.
  • Define and manage service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure operational excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies to drive innovation.
