About The Position
The Director of Audiology at Boston Medical Center will hold full responsibility for the Audiology Clinic, ensuring the effective delivery of audiology services to patients. This role involves close collaboration with the Otolaryngology administrative staff to optimize patient scheduling and flow, thereby enhancing the overall patient experience. The Director will be tasked with developing the annual budget for the clinic, as well as monitoring income and expenses on a monthly basis to ensure financial health and sustainability of the services provided. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Director will engage directly in patient services. This includes evaluating the auditory function of patients, providing necessary rehabilitation, referring patients to appropriate clinics, and counseling them on hearing conservation and management of hearing loss. The Director will also oversee the training and supervision of 4th year Au.D. students, managing their formal externships from various Audiology training programs. This position is pivotal in shaping the future of audiology professionals while ensuring high standards of care for patients. The Director will be expected to maintain effective communication with both clinical and administrative teams, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient care and staff development. This role is essential in leading the Audiology Clinic towards achieving its goals and maintaining its reputation for excellence in audiological services.
