About The Position

Workweek is seeking a Director, Audio & Video Production, to lead the team responsible for our audio & video products, primarily podcasts. The ideal candidate for this role has been the lead/managing/executive producer for a podcast show or network. They have deep experience in podcasts and will take the lead in making Workweek Podcasts the best B2B podcast network in the world. As a player-coach, this person will personally lead editing and production of 1 podcast show (4-8 episodes) per month, with the goal of developing a deep understanding of our team and work that will enable you to lead the scaling of the team effectively as we grow. More broadly, the Director, Audio & Video Production will balance creativity with project management. They will collaborate with our Creators and Content team to improve the quality of our podcasts and other A/V products, while also managing the production resources, schedules, and workflows to ensure content is delivered on time and on brand. They will also collaborate with our Brand Partnerships Team to ensure sponsor integrations and custom deliverables are executed in a way that both meets requirements and builds trust in our relationships., The Director, Audio & Video Production will report to the COO and will directly manage a team of podcast producers, as well as source and manage contractors as needed. Clear communication with stakeholders, proactive issue resolution, and efficient resource management are critical to the success of this role.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years in audio or video production, with experience leading teams or large-scale projects — ideally, experience as a lead/managing/executive producer of a podcast show or network
  • Skilled in podcast and video production from concept to final edit.
  • Proficient with industry-standard tools (Riverside, Descript, Adobe Premiere, Audition, Pro Tools, or similar).
  • Strong project management and communication skills; comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative leader who thrives working with creative, sales, and ops teams.
  • Passionate about storytelling, audio quality, and elevating production standards.
  • Hands-on “player-coach” mindset with a drive to build and scale processes as the team grows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Audio & Video Production Team, overseeing all audio & video production (primarily podcasts) to ensure timely, high-quality output.
  • Own production resources and schedules, managing both ongoing content (podcasts, webinars) and custom projects (special series, live recordings, product videos).
  • Collaborate with the Content Team to improve show formats, enhance A/V strategy, and support guest preparation with best practices and equipment guidance.
  • Partner with the Brand Partnerships Team to deliver custom client content accurately and on schedule.
  • Act as a player-coach, editing 1 podcast show (4-8 episodes) per month, and support additional production if/as needed, in order to deeply understand team operations and inform future hiring.
  • Manage and grow the team, including producers, editors, and contractors, while ensuring clear communication and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly updates to leadership on podcast performance metrics and contractor budgets.
