The Director of Application Services oversees the strategy, roadmap, operational management and support of enterprise applications for the college's ERP and interrelated systems and their evolution to SaaS. This position reports to the CIO and will be responsible for providing direction of both university and Ellucian staff. The position is responsible for project management and coordination of college services that integrate with the Banner ERP system including but not limited to: Ellucian Experience, prospect and applicant CRMs, administrative systems, external reporting, internal reporting systems, library systems and academic/LMS system integrations. The position provides leadership to develop and guide staff and work with senior management on establishing professional development goals. The director analyzes and prioritizes user requests, objectives, requirements, procedures, business processes, and security requirements prior to developing solutions or improving existing computer system(s).

  • Oversee the strategy, roadmap, operational management and support of enterprise applications for the college's ERP and interrelated systems.
  • Provide direction for both university and Ellucian staff.
  • Manage project coordination of college services that integrate with the Banner ERP system.
  • Provide leadership to develop and guide staff and work with senior management on professional development goals.
  • Analyze and prioritize user requests, objectives, requirements, procedures, business processes, and security requirements.
  • Provide support and management for the system administration of the Banner ERP and Student Success systems.
  • Consult with IT systems staff and end users to develop functional design specifications.
  • Manage two administrative systems staff, ensuring quality and quantity of work standards are met.
  • Work with management on planning strategic priorities and annual work plans.
  • Act as a strong leader in managing modernization efforts.
  • Consult with management on project proposals, determining goals, time frames, and resource allocation.
  • Effectively manage projects and resources using strong project management skills.
  • Develop and implement ERP and associated administrative systems change management and communication planning.
  • Provide client liaison and technical support for administrative applications.
  • Support departmental staff with the identification, evaluation, selection, support and maintenance of systems solutions.
  • Provide systems analysis, problem solving support, and necessary programming support.
  • Implement quality assurance methodologies for change management and problem management.
  • Meet with users to determine the impact of proposed changes in hardware or software.
  • Assist with the evaluation of third party software and hardware.
  • Plan and manage data storage and archival operations and solutions.
  • Review maintenance contracts for hardware and software and make recommendations.
  • Establish technical and implementation standards for administrative systems management.
  • Plan, design and implement integration of other data sources into the ecosystem.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Experience with Ellucian integration components including Ethos and Data Connect.
  • Solid functional and technical knowledge of the Banner ERP.
  • Project management training and experience.
  • Knowledge of Argosognos and Ellucian Insights reporting.
  • Experience in a university setting.
  • Knowledge of Ellucian SaaS integration products and techniques.
  • Varied and strong technical background in higher education administrative systems or business management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Specific understanding of industry trends and standards required.
  • Strong end user orientation.
