About The Position

The Director of Application Development will create and execute the Digital Technology and Data Strategy for Cargill Animal Nutrition and Health's (ANH) North America business, aligning with the Americas Regional strategy, while also considering the needs of the market and the customers served. It is responsible for maintaining, integrating, and implementing software applications within North America. This role will partner with business and digital technology leadership to develop and prioritize a business strategy aligned investment portfolio, and it will lead a diverse and global team, providing guidance on software application testing, quality assurance, master data maintenance, configuration, installation, and support to ensure smooth, stable, and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the ANH North America application and data strategy in alignment with the business's goals.
  • Lead the execution and develop strategies for application configuration to align with business's goals.
  • Provide oversight for release management processes and programming, configuration, testing and deployment of fixes or updates for application version releases.
  • Establish an open channel of communication with business leadership and provide broad oversight and guidance on application support requests and needs.
  • Lead the team to conduct advanced and complex application support activities to deliver on business outcomes.
  • Identify and drive engagement with key internal and external partners, understanding their needs and value drivers, and maintaining effective communication to ensure alignment and business success.
  • Develop broad reviews on incoming incident tickets and user requests to ensure prioritization in accordance to service level agreements.
  • Foster positive relationships with software vendors and negotiate relevant contracts.
  • Track the performance of configured applications and make adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Review and approve recommended improvements for moderate to advanced and highly complex application specific support processes and procedures.
  • Manage team members to achieve the organization's goals, by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable.
