About The Position

Healthcare Risk Advisors is seeking a Director, Analytics & Informatics to join our team. This is a hybrid opportunity located at our New York City office. The Director, Analytics & Informatics is an innovative leader responsible for turning clinical, operational, claims, and third‑party data into trusted insights that improve financial outcomes and reducing liability exposures and risk. The director partners closely with internal and external leaders including Risk Management, Data Science, Claims, and Clinical leaders to deliver data tools and actionable intelligence that reduces malpractice exposure, prevents harm, and strengthens performance.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Informatics, Statistics, Health Information Management, is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in analytics, informatics, or data strategy, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Professional experience in informatics within a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with EHR data, clinical coding, and healthcare claims data
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and overseeing analytics solutions, including governance of data products and reporting tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of processes for acquiring, standardizing, and organizing clinical, operational, and claims data to ensure data integrity and usability.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present complex clinical and financial insights to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate evidence and guidelines into informatics solutions that drive strategic decision-making

Nice To Haves

  • A master's degree in Informatics, Statistics, Health Information Management, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ingestion, normalization, and curation of EHR data into HRA systems to enhance the accuracy of clinical codes.
  • Integrate third‑party and hospital data with malpractice data to allow benchmarking and work on to determine if early identification of risk events is possible.
  • Build and govern data for analytics products in Power BI; oversee semantic models and certified datasets with data steward.
  • Present clinical insights to internal and external stakeholders, pulling actionable items from both clinical and financial data to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to translate evidence and guidelines into informatics solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to strategies that mitigate risk.
  • Support Clinical Data Steward to establish a clinical data quality program (completeness, timeliness, accuracy) with automated rules and reconciliation across sources.
  • Support Clinical Data Steward with terminologies, mappings, and documentation standards to improve analytics reliability and coder alignment.
  • Work with colleagues to create and update coding guidelines targeting specific topics weekly, ensuring alignment with Department of Health regulations.
  • Oversee program rollout, training, and adoption across stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary informatics partner to hospital informatics team.
  • Provides clear communication to hospital clients and follows up as necessary based on expectations agreed to with the client.
  • Maintain awareness of client needs to provide proper support.
  • Elevates concerns expressed by the insureds to management as necessary
  • Provides excellent service to internal team members who submit requests to the team.
  • Provides high-quality, comprehensive work- product that facilitates efficient/effective downstream workflow.
  • Oversees the development of staff performance metrics and creates an annual plan to ensure services are provided appropriately.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports and support the overall team to identify and achieve performance and development goals.
  • Communicates and delivers ongoing/timely feedback to direct reports regarding their performance.
  • Completes any training required to maintain or advance the skills set necessary to achieve professional, department, or company goals.
  • Assists with a variety of department and company- wide projects.
  • Makes oneself available for any and all duties.
  • Accepts delegated tasks readily and completes assigned duties as directed.
