About The Position

The Director of the Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Related Disorders Office at the Pennsylvania Department of Aging is responsible for leading initiatives that promote independence and well-being for older adults. This role involves strategic planning, program development, and oversight of services related to dementia care across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The director will work closely with the ADRD Advisory Committee to implement policies and address service gaps in the existing programs.

Requirements

  • Five years of professional human services experience, including three years in planning and coordinating aging services programs or policies and two years of supervisory experience, along with a bachelor's degree.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of experience in aging services and two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing ADRD programs and services to identify service gaps.
  • Provide strategic direction to the ADRD Advisory Committee.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for ADRD programs and services.
  • Establish and direct program priorities and staffing needs.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and partners regarding ADRD initiatives.
  • Review and update the state plan for ADRD services.
  • Identify and manage grants to fund office programs and services.
  • Compile annual reports on ADRD activities and outcomes.
  • Manage and supervise staff within the ADRD office.
  • Make decisions impacting department and program budgets.
