About The Position

As the Director of AI & Data Science at DHL Supply Chain, you will lead strategic initiatives that harness advanced AI and data science techniques-including predictive and prescriptive analytics, machine learning, generative AI, statistics, and operations research-to drive operational excellence and deliver measurable business value. In this hands-on leadership role, you will be directly involved in designing, developing, and deploying innovative data science solutions, while also managing project execution to ensure timely, high-impact results. You will function as a senior advisor and primary point of contact for executive stakeholders and external partners, ensuring all initiatives are aligned with DHL's strategic goals and comply with global and North American data privacy and security standards. You will also play a critical role in mentoring and developing a high-performing team, shaping the long-term vision for AI and data science across North America. Your leadership will foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and scalable growth within DHL Supply Chain's operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Business Administration, required (Ph.D. Preferred).
• 10+ years' experience in diverse roles with increasing responsibilities across business and IT, required.
• 3+ years' experience in Warehouse Management System implementations, preferred.
• 5 years' experience working Machine Learning technologies (DataRobot, Azure ML Studio, other).
• 3 years' experience working with cloud analytics platforms.
• 2 years' experience with scripting languages - Python, R, Jupyter, Java, Scala.
• 5 years' experience working with statistics.

Responsibilities

• Drive the growth and standardization of AI and Data Science practices across the NorAm Analytics Community.
• Lead and nurture high-performing Data Science teams, fostering a strong, engaged culture.
• Identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact AI use cases aligned with business objectives.
• Translate complex models and insights into compelling business narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Business Units, Operations, and global analytics teams to define and execute long-term strategy.
• Continuously research emerging technologies and trends to inform multi-year planning and innovation.
• Serve as the central point of expertise on AI and Data Science for executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Provide regular updates and strategic insights to the Executive team on the state and impact of analytics initiatives.
• Approve, implement, and monitor tools, models, and software to ensure effective analytics solutions and ROI.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to make frequent and dynamic prioritization decisions based on the latest product analytics, product team metrics and customer feedback.
• Define, track, and communicate key product performance indicators as required to inform this process, and track business results.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and refine business and pricing models for the AI products.
