About The Position

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Directs all administrative and fiscal components for patient access points including inpatient, outpatient, emergency and ancillary registration, scheduling, pre-registration, cash management/posting, and bed management where applicable. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively manages human resources and expenses, achieving both department productivity standards and budget objectives. Supervises staff, evaluates work, and recommends and implements approved disciplinary action. (35%) Works with all hospital departments and corporate leadership for the purpose of facilitating problem resolution, development of policies, processes and programs, coordination of services and organization cohesiveness. Actively involved in carrying out financial clearance policies and patient eligibility assistance insurance verification including financial review, interaction with financial counselors, facility leadership and physician staff. Maintains a high degree of customer service (25%) Works with system leadership to achieve established WPAHS revenue cycle operational goals. (25%) Develops, administers, and is accountable for department budgets. (10%) Assures compliance with federal, state, local, Joint Commission, and hospital policies and regulations relative to patient registration and education. (5%)

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree
  • 5 years’ experience in healthcare access management
