About The Position

As Director of Accounting, you’ll help lead and shape the accounting function at 80 Acres Farms from our Hamilton, OH headquarters (hybrid position). You won’t just oversee reporting, you’ll build and scale the processes that power a rapidly growing business. In this high-impact, highly-technical, and highly visible role, you’ll partner closely across Finance to drive insights, strengthen controls, and continuously elevate how we operate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA and/or Master’s preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Strong technical accounting expertise with experience in financial close and reporting
  • Background in public accounting is required; experience with corporate environments is preferred
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and partner cross-functionally
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure complete, accurate balance sheet reconciliations
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner with FP&A to analyze financial results, explain variances, and provide actionable insights
  • Support complex accounting activities, including financing arrangements, equity transactions, and potential M&A activity
  • Oversee key accounting areas including audits, treasury, fixed assets, leases, accruals, and construction project accounting
  • Coordinate with external partners on tax filings and review annual tax provisions
  • Establish and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and business leaders to support budgeting and forecasting
  • Drive process improvements and scalability as the business grows
