About The Position

In this role, you will lead and oversee all accounting and finance functions for a complex, multi-entity organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective management of resources. You will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing insights for budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making. The role encompasses multi-entity financial management, internal controls, audits, and regulatory reporting, while optimizing financial systems and processes. You will manage and develop a high-performing finance team, foster continuous improvement, and ensure financial data supports organizational objectives. This position requires a strong leader with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights, while contributing to the mission and strategic goals of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 3–5 years in a multi-entity nonprofit environment managing budgets of $10M+
  • Proven experience with audits, regulatory filings, and intercompany financial management
  • Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable accounting software
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data for varied stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing organizational mission and equity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and foster a high-performing finance team

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-entity accounting and finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and intercompany transactions
  • Maintain and improve financial systems, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and oversee consolidated financial statements, management reports, and dashboards for organizational leadership
  • Manage annual audits, 990 filings, and other required regulatory reports, liaising with external auditors and regulatory agencies
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to executives, department heads, and program staff to support decision-making and resource allocation
  • Support grant and donor reporting processes to ensure programmatic compliance and effective financial management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, promoting operational efficiency and professional growth
