About The Position

We are seeking a Director, Accounting - FTC, to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a high-volume event and hospitality business with revenues exceeding $2 billion. This role is focused on general ledger, financial close, reporting, and operational accounting for an agency-style business, managing a team of 4 director reports and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience in high-volume environments, preferably in event, hospitality, or agency businesses.
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, cost allocation, and general ledger management.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)
• Proven leadership experience managing a team (3–5 staff).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of four accounting professionals, ensuring high-quality work, professional development, and accountability.
• Oversee journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations; ensure accurate and timely month-end close.
• Support revenue recognition and expense allocations related to events and client engagements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and operational metrics; provide insights to support leadership decision-making.
• Maintain strong accounting controls and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to optimize accounting processes, increase efficiency, and improve reporting accuracy in a complex, high-volume environment.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Event teams to resolve accounting issues and support accurate financial operations.
