About The Position

The Director, Accounting & Consolidations will play a key role in TransMedics' accounting operations. This role will be responsible for coordinating management month-end closing and reporting deliverables. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to ensure accurate, efficient, and actionable financial insights for the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required); MBA or CPA (preferred).
  • At least 10 years of experience performing accounting, consolidation, and reporting.
  • Multicurrency financial statements preparation a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading and directing teams that have performed financial close processes and financial statement preparation.
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance (i.e. SOX 404)
  • Proven ability to manage month-end close processes and reporting deliverables.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data clearly.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of relevant supporting schedules for consolidation entries, elimination entries, inter-company reconciliations, foreign currency gains and losses, both realized and unrealized
  • Preparation of periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual etc.) consolidation
  • Manage international accounting deliverables and review results on a monthly basis for completeness
  • Maintain the various ledger accounts including reconciliation various general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Review journal entries ensuring accuracy of classification and completeness
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end and annual close processes including, cut-off procedures, accruals, and estimates as needed
  • Conduct periodic reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual, and other) including income statement, balance sheet, statement of equity and statement of cash flows
  • Maintenance of relevant supporting schedules for consolidation entries, elimination entries, inter-company reconciliations, foreign currency gains and losses, both realized and unrealized
  • Maintaining a strong control environment through proper evidence of reviews and approvals of transactions, reconciliations, schedules etc.
  • Drive close process improvements to meet accelerated SEC filing timelines
  • Support financial audits and SOX audits, including the preparation of PBCs (prepared by client schedules) for the audits and for our SEC filings
  • Perform other TransMedics’ tasks and duties as assigned
