The Director, Access Strategy, owns the development and execution of our market access strategies for pipeline and on-market products. This leader effectively collaborates across various product functions, and must also work closely with Screening, Precision Oncology, International, and Pipeline business leadership, as well as other enabling business functions. This role provides strategic leadership to cross-functional teams by working to define clear and realistic goals, clearing barriers to success, developing a clear management view of assigned projects and how they fit into the strategic landscape, and understanding of all the skills and tasks associated with successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Life Sciences, Business Administration or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercially focused roles, including 5+ years leading the navigation efforts of health and reimbursement policy at the national level as well as experience developing payer coverage, coding and pricing strategies in device, biotech or diagnostic laboratory companies.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated advancement in responsibilities and in direct or in-direct leadership.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the healthcare payer environment; including coverage, coding, payment, as well as how to develop, implement, and manage reimbursement programs.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of healthcare product development and commercialization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Market Access strategy representative and advocate in strategic and tactical planning within the Pipeline business unit, including serving, along with the Pipeline Access Strategy team, as a member of Pipeline product core teams and sub-teams focused on evidence generation, product development, and commercialization.
  • Lead development of market access strategies, including coverage, evidence generation, coding and pricing, in support of pipeline and on-market products.
  • In partnership with Market Access Marketing, create payer value propositions, messaging, tools and resources to drive market access during product launch.
  • Lead strategic decisions in collaboration with Market Access Leadership teams regarding Trade Association sponsorships and Access-related meeting attendance in support of the business unit.
  • Coordinate reimbursement policy initiatives including development of corporate positions, internal and external communications on policy positions, and partnership with industry trade associations.
  • Act as a liaison and key contact point for Pipeline Business Unit, Corporate Strategy, Government Affairs, Screening Market Access, Precision Oncology Market Access and Field Market Access Managers.
  • Support strategy for laboratory benefit managers (LBMs), anticipating future trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HEOR on evidence development plans to support coverage of Pipeline products.
  • Work with Sales Training and Pipeline team to develop and execute product training, specific training around market access, for market access and sales.
  • Work, in partnership with Market Access Leadership, to establish goals and priorities across the product portfolio.
  • Develop and support implementation of pricing policies and strategies for the business unit in conjunction with business unit, market access leaders.
  • Collaborate with corporate office and external analysts in the execution of market research plans.
  • Lead the development of market access strategies and assist in creating payer messaging and other tactics to drive market access during product development and launch.
  • Act in a leadership capacity for the Market Access team working closely with headquarters teams to develop and implement customer strategies and monitor projects supporting field pull through of account wins, collaborating closely with the team leaders.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment; including managing multiple projects with on time and budget completion.
