The Project Director of the Academic Success Center (ASC) is a pivotal role within Halifax Community College, reporting directly to the Dean of Academic Affairs. This position is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the ASC Grant, which is designed to enhance student success through strategic planning and academic support services. The Director will manage grant initiatives, supervise project staff, and ensure compliance with project activities, all while fostering a supportive academic environment that aligns with the college's mission and goals. In this role, the Director will serve as the primary contact for the ASC Grant, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring grant activities. This includes managing the data reporting system for the grant and representing the grant on all project-related matters. The Director will communicate reports to all stakeholders and monitor the progress of project activities to ensure yearly goals are met. Additionally, the Director will manage project budgets and financial resources, develop a comprehensive financial literacy program for students, and prepare various records and reports related to the grant. The Director will also collaborate with various college departments, including the Academic Division dean, program directors, and Student Affairs staff, to design and implement new practices that enhance student success. This collaborative effort will involve working under the leadership of the President/CEO and the Trustee Board to establish strategic goals and improve overall institutional efficiency and effectiveness. The Director will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the ASC project and the broader college community. Supervisory responsibilities include leading project activities, managing a team of Academic Advising Coaches and support staff, and providing staff development and training. The Director will also engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in higher education, grant management, and student success initiatives. This role is essential in promoting student success and institutional excellence at Halifax Community College.
