About The Position

The primary focus of this role is to provide strategic direction and oversee the operations, alignment and completeness of Curriculum Design deliverables for Math grades Kinder through 12th grade (lessons and activities). The Director 2 plays a critical role in driving organizational success by setting goals, developing strategies, and ensuring effective implementation of curriculum design aligned to NES (New Education System) model. This position requires strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to give critical feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within a similar industry or organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget planning and financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the process for designing curriculum for assigned content area(s) and grade level band(s), ensuring alignment with NES model and Houston ISD's educational objectives.
  • Evaluate curriculum through a sensitivity lens to ensure grade-level appropriateness and cultural relevance.
  • Prepare and facilitate in collaborative brain trust sessions to gather insights, share expertise, and foster innovation in curriculum design and instructional strategies.
  • Create working improvement plans for Curriculum Writer 1s in conjunction with Curriculum Writer 2s to see growth in delivery of on-time, completed, high quality instruction.
  • Create scopes and sequence utilizing high quality instructional research and strategies.
  • Create and provide Lesson Objectives to Designers in a sequential order.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $150,000.00 – $175,000.00
