About The Position

The Director of Secure & Assured Systems at Draper is responsible for leading the management and growth of the business unit focused on developing secure microelectronics for national security applications. This role involves overseeing program execution, business development, and strategic planning to enhance the capabilities and resiliency of the U.S. microelectronics industrial base. The Director will engage with various stakeholders, manage a team of program managers, and ensure compliance with Draper and government requirements while driving innovation and delivering impactful solutions.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or above in a relevant technical field or MBA.
  • 10+ years of functional or program management experience, including 5 years in personnel management.
  • Deep knowledge in one or more technical disciplines related to secure microelectronics.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage complex tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a business unit with oversight of program execution and business development pipeline.
  • Develop personal credibility with sponsor organizations and program staff.
  • Drive new business development across various DoD Services and government branches.
  • Identify and capture business opportunities aligned with Draper's technical capabilities.
  • Lead business development efforts including proposals and RFI responses.
  • Engage with partners and customers to inform strategy and grow the business pipeline.
  • Manage a portfolio of government or industrial partner programs, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
  • Supervise a team of program managers, providing mentorship and career development.
  • Oversee the development of complex proposals and execution of assigned programs.
  • Implement program management policies for effective project execution.
