As a Directional Drill Operator, you will operate horizontal directional drilling equipment to accurately install underground utilities, pipelines, and infrastructure components. You will interpret and implement drilling plans, blueprints, and specifications for precise and efficient installations. Your role will also involve performing maintenance and troubleshooting on drilling equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reduce downtime. Safety is paramount, and you will follow established protocols to uphold a secure work environment for all team members. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work effectively with site supervisors, project managers, and team members to meet project objectives. You will monitor drilling progress closely, making necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, you will record and report drilling activities, including progress, challenges, and equipment upkeep, while keeping the work area clean and organized to promote safety. Adaptability is essential, as you may need to undertake additional tasks as job site requirements change. You will also mix mud to correct viscosity and have knowledge of necessary additives based on ground conditions.
