About The Position

Since connecting its first subscriber in December 2007, Mercury Broadband has rapidly expanded its network, headquartered in Kansas City, providing Internet access to communities throughout the Midwest. The Fiber Services Team at Mercury Broadband is responsible for building and servicing the entire fiber network. The Directional Drill Operator will play a crucial role in this team, requiring a professional attitude and appearance while engaging with team members and construction managers. The technician must be mindful and thorough in their work, adhering to installation and safety guidelines, as well as following instructions from the Fiber Team Leader. This position is based in the Overbrook, KS region and is a full-time role with a compensation range of $21.00 to $25.00 per hour. Key responsibilities include the installation of fiber plant equipment at designated premises, assisting with new fiber plant construction, and performing drill and plow operations. The technician will interact with customers, landowners, and inspectors, representing the company professionally. Troubleshooting customer equipment and network outages, managing work orders, and assisting in training OSP Technicians I and II are also essential duties. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to manage vital business relationships while troubleshooting complex issues.
