About The Position

The Community Living Instructor will provide quality psychiatric care to individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis that is present to the regional Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC). This care will be individualized to the specific needs of each individual served at the BHCC. This position will work under the direct supervision of the local BHCC Triage Clinician Lead. Training is centered on interventions designed to provide appropriate care for adults presenting with a variety of needs, cognitive abilities, and diagnoses. This is a PRN opportunity. Preference is given to candidates who have evening, overnight, and weekend availability; minimum 16 hours/month.

Requirements

• High School/GED preferred
• At least one (1) year of psychiatric, nursing or emergency room experience preferred
• A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required

Responsibilities

• Provide care to individuals experiencing behavioral health crisis
• Ensure individuals are comfortable and have daily needs met while providing oversight for safety
• Complete a minimum of 52 educational activities per year and participate in 1 hour mandatory training monthly
• Participate in Level One Medication Aid (L1MA) training and perform all L1MA activities on shift, as needed
• Provide feedback to enhance patient care to direct supervisor
• Participate in mandatory overtime if needed
• Act as a preceptor and mentor to new employees as needed
• Provide patient information and recommendations to the Treatment Team
• Write legibly and communicate appropriately with patients and co-workers
• Follow all policy and procedures while on shift
• Support in keeping BHCC tidy and clean
• Perform other duties as assigned
