About The Position

Spurwink is hiring hard-working candidates like you to become Direct Support Recovery Workers at their facility in Portland. This position provides direct services to support a recovery lifestyle of people living in the program. All positions within this classification administer client medications and provide services that support a therapeutic co-occurring milieu. These positions attend weekly program staff meetings and frequently participate in other team meetings as necessary. The Direct Support Recovery Worker position pays $21.50-$22.50 per hour. Our Campus: Single Occupancy bedrooms (apart from one double) Large family-style living room Large treatment group room Restaurant-style kitchen Exercise room Swimming Pool Large playground for visiting family/children Basketball court Large vegetable garden Close proximity to Portland Metro bus line.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license required.
• Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of direct care/mental health or relevant life experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides residents with necessary support for accomplishing tasks of daily living.
• Assists with all client admissions and discharges.
• Assists clients in connecting with any appropriate community resources.
• Develops and implements structured activities, recreation and/or therapeutic activities or groups for residents, i.e., trips, discussions, games, and activities of daily living as assigned.
• Communicates and coordinates with family members/guardians as necessary.
• Contributes to quality assurance through maintenance of client records.
