About The Position

The Direct Support Professional at D&S Community Services, part of the Sevita family, plays a crucial role in providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and multi-task effectively.
  • Teamwork and time-management skills.

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
  • Support participants in achieving developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
  • Help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals served.
  • Take initiative to address the needs of participants, including those with behavioral challenges.
