About The Position

Requirements

  • Ability to physically assist people out of a structure in the event of an emergency.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Sufficient strength to lift up to 50 pounds for intermittent/occasional periods as necessary.
  • Sufficient dexterity to operate standard business equipment and other specialized equipment.
  • Vision for everyday reading and the ability to drive.
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to physically restrain individuals who could be a risk of danger to themselves or others.
  • Ability to reach and bend at the waist, kneel on the floor, and twist without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Support and implement the CSI mission while empowering each person supported to direct his or her own life.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and effective relationship with persons supported, interacting positively, actively, and respectfully.
  • Provide opportunities for learning new skills and having new life experiences.
  • Teach and role-model appropriate social behavior.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personal vision statements and support plans.
  • Support each person's optimal health, including administering medications and assisting with medical appointments.
  • Ensure that people are supported to exercise their rights.
  • Assist each person with maintaining a clean and safe home that reflects their preferences.
  • Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings.
  • Maintain optimal communication and cooperative working relationships with the team, family, guardians, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist each person with money management while safeguarding their funds.
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to CSI policies and procedures to ensure the safety of persons supported.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
