About The Position

The Autism Center of Nebraska, Inc. (ACN) is actively seeking highly motivated and compassionate professionals to join our team. We are currently hiring Direct Support Professionals to work in our Residential Group Homes. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSP) at ACN work directly with individuals who experience autism and other developmental disabilities. The DSP is responsible for teaching a variety of independent living skills such as grocery shopping and meal preparation, participating in community activities of the individuals' choice, interacting positively with peers, and personal care skills. This position also involves documentation, medication administration, and transportation. Current Openings include Day Shifts (Vocational and Residential) and Evening, Overnight, and Weekend Shifts (Residential).

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to clearly speak and understand English.
• Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Reliable transportation and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Teach independent living skills such as grocery shopping and meal preparation.
• Participate in community activities of the individuals' choice.
• Interact positively with peers.
• Assist with personal care skills.
• Document care and activities.
• Administer medication as required.
• Provide transportation for individuals.
