About The Position

The Direct Support Professional is an hourly, part-time role dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. This position involves providing compassionate, person-centered care in home or community settings, ensuring the health and well-being of individuals. The role includes assisting with daily living activities such as hygiene, meals, and medication reminders, supporting individuals in achieving personal goals and participating in social activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and communicating effectively with the care team. Additionally, the Direct Support Professional is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Additional coursework or certification in human services or related fields is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain.
  • Basic computer skills required; experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage is required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.
