Enables people with developmental disabilities to develop skills that contribute to a self-directed and independent life by providing instruction, guidance, and one-on-one assistance. Enables the people we serve to address and achieve specific goals. Responds to atypical/emergent circumstances, exercising good judgment for such events. Ensures safe and effective behavior management by recognizing and responding to verbal and nonverbal signs leading to behavioral escalation; implements behavior adjustment plans. Provides care and instruction to the people we serve by modeling, verbal coaching and hand-over-hand assistance. Provides support to the people we serve by aiding with personal hygiene, money management, social interaction, academics, self-discipline, recreation, community integration and other goals involving daily living. Maintains accurate documentation, enhances professional and technical knowledge by participating in Agency training, and contributes to team effort.
