About The Position

Empowered Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives. As a DSP, you will work one-on-one with each customer to understand their unique needs, support them in achieving their goals, and provide care in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs serve not only as caregivers but also as mentors, advocates, and trusted companions for the individuals we support. Customer 1 351: We are seeking a highly involved and compassionate Direct Support Professional to support a sweet-natured customer who enjoys shopping, community outings, and doing crafts at home. This individual takes time to warm up but is friendly and engaging once they feel comfortable, so patience and relationship-building are essential. The ideal provider will remain attentive throughout the day, consistently looking for physical signs or changes in mood and alertness that may indicate a medical concern. Strong de-escalation skills are required, as the provider must be able to safely and calmly manage occasional physical aggression. This role is perfect for someone who is observant, steady, and enjoys creating meaningful daily experiences. Apply now to make a positive impact in this customer’s life. Customer 2 053: We are seeking a dedicated and supportive Direct Support Professional to work with a customer who absolutely loves animals—especially dogs—and even carries treats in their pocket for any furry friend they meet. This customer enjoys community outings such as farmers markets, bowling, and other social activities, and they also need assistance finding and maintaining a job. The ideal provider will have strong experience in maintaining firm but respectful boundaries and will be able to help the customer process information when challenges or unexpected situations arise. This role requires someone who is comfortable transporting the customer around the community, accompanying them to church on Sundays, and assisting with budgeting and money management.
