About The Position
Morrison Center is seeking a Full Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), to be based in Scarborough, Maine Morrison Center is hiring an additional Full Time Direct Support Professional (DSP), 37.5 Hours a week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm. The DSP must be willing to transport clients out into the community, provide personal care, complete daily documentation, and have a good understanding of what community supports is. DSP staffer to support the clients in maintaining, obtaining, and managing their goals. Morrison Center is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide comprehensive, individualized support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED Required
- DSP Certification preferred but will train the right candidate
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Safety training such as Mandt, Safety Care, etc.
- Prior experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Valid Maine Driver’s license required and a clean driving record
- Experienced with transfers in and out of wheelchair, using a lift, and is comfortable working in someone’s private home with the Shared Living DSP who resides there as well.
Nice To Haves
- DSP Certification preferred but will train the right candidate
Responsibilities
- Willing to transport clients out into the community
- Provide personal care, showers, toileting, dressing etc.
- Supporting clients to help them reach and maintain plan of care goals and activities.
- Have a good understanding of what community supports is
- Gives hands on and eyes on care and support for clients
