About The Position

Advocates is seeking an innovative and conscientious Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with an individual with autism. He is looking to work with someone who can help support him with working on his goals which include working on building positive relationships, exploring his community for activities to participate in, and improving his overall health and wellness. His ideal candidate for the DSP position is well organized, comfortable supporting him in his GED classes, has strong communication skills, and is reliable. Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address. Hours and days of work Tuesday (8:30 AM - 3:30/4 PM) Full-time opportunities may be available. Pay rate: $22.50 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16 per hour. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid email address.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance if required for the job assigned.

  • Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including sitting, standing, using hands to reach, walk, push, or lift up to 50 pounds.

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.
