Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age; must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities, or successful completion of training in the Missouri Quality Outcomes approved by the Division of DD regional office.
  • Must possess a reliable means of communication.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance.
  • Must have good computer skills and be able to read and understand written materials.
  • Must have a working air conditioner and heater in any vehicle used for client transport.
  • Must have a current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Report to and work with assigned clients according to the times specified on the support schedule.
  • Read and understand the content of the current Individual Support Plan (and addendums) for your assigned clients.
  • Provide support as specified in the personal plan, including accompaniment to medical appointments, recreational activities, and performing personal hygiene tasks.
  • Train clients in personal hygiene, money management, safety, wellness, household skills, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Document client progress towards goals as stated in the Individual Support Plan and complete detailed Residential daily notes.
  • Obtain and record receipts for transactions made from client funds.
  • Implement emergency and safety drills as specified in the Individual Safety Plan.
  • Complete General Event Reports (GERs) in accordance with State guidelines.
  • Maintain current certification in CPR, Standard First Aid, and Medication Administration if administering medications.
  • Attend meetings and specialized training as directed.
  • Complete competency-based Community Services orientation training.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
